My daughter asked for it three nights in a row—the way it turns being different into something fun instead of scary really clicked with her. She keeps pointing out how the town of Samesville feels like her own classroom, and I love that the recipe detail sparks her imagination before bed.
The pillow-under-the-pillow bedtime ritual in this book is so clever—my daughter asked to try it the very night we finished reading. She's been talking about Sammi's town ever since, and honestly, it's sparked more "why do we have to be the same?" conversations than any other kids' book we've got.
