My kid asked for it three nights in a row now, and the way Phil's baking adventure unfolds with his parents just clicks for little ones who love helping in the kitchen. The story's rhythm is perfect for bedtime, and the hardcover feels sturdy enough for all the rereads we're definitely in for.
The illustrations are so warm and lively that my daughter actually asks for this one by name every night now. It’s a sweet, simple story about family baking that even I don't mind rereading for the fifth time.
My kid normally abandons bedtime stories halfway through, but this one held her attention from the first page to the last. The way it captures Phil's excitement about baking with his parents feels so genuine, and the illustrations really bring that kitchen warmth to life.
